OrderStream, also referred to as Seradex OrderStream, is a manufacturing ERP software platform developed by Seradex Web Services Inc., designed to streamline operations, communication, and reporting for manufacturers using SQL Server, Microsoft 365, and integrated business systems.
Use of Google APIs
OrderStream integrates with Google APIs to enable secure, automated email functionality. Specifically, the application:
| • | Obtains OAuth 2.0 tokens from both Google and Microsoft to authenticate email operations. |
| • | Uses Google SMTP services to send emails on behalf of authenticated users. |
| • | Calls an additional Google API to identify the account associated with the granted OAuth token. |
These capabilities are implemented using OAuth 2.0 and comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy.
Email Functionality
OrderStream uses Gmail or Outlook 365 access to support sending emails for the following features:
| • | Automated Alerts
SQL-driven alerts can be configured to notify users of virtually any business scenario, such as inventory thresholds, overdue invoices, production delays, or workflow exceptions. |
| • | Report Delivery
Telerik reports generated within OrderStream can be exported as PDF documents and automatically emailed to designated recipients. |
| • | Manual Email Generation
Users without Microsoft Office Outlook installed can send emails using a simplified interface within OrderStream. |
OrderStream also has the following Contact Email Activity Logging features:
Emails received from or sent to addresses registered in OrderStream as contact email addresses are automatically written to the database as contact activity records.
This enables seamless tracking of customer, vendor, and production-related communications. Emails that do not match a contact specified in OrderStream are not tracked.
Only the following logging method can be used per deployment with Gmail:
| • | Microsoft Outlook Mailbox Scanner
Users initiate a sync process from OrderStream that scans their Outlook mailbox specifically the Inbox, Sent Items, and all subfolders within those. |
All email interactions are initiated by authorized users or system processes within the OrderStream environment.
Data Privacy and Security
OrderStream only accesses Gmail data from users who explicitly grant permission during the OAuth consent process. No email content is shared outside the OrderStream system, and all data is stored securely in accordance with Seradex's internal privacy and security policies.
